I’ve created a new series called “Swan’s Diary”, where I record my current encounter with the dreaded Burnout.
I’m a YouTuber and have been creating content for years. I’ve taken breaks before, but they were never for long before I got right back into it. My videos don’t get a lot of views, but creating them made me happy.
At least, it used to make me happy.
On May 16th, 2025, I was hustling to record and edit a video to upload when I realised, I didn’t want to do this anymore. I stopped the video I was working on, turned on my camera and announced my break from YouTube.
It felt incredibly freeing to make that video. A giant weight was lifted off my shoulders, and I felt like I could breathe again. Sounds dramatic, I know, but that’s exactly what it felt like.
Right after making my “I’m Tired…” video, I took a water break and recorded an “I’m Back” video…….
Confused?
Let me explain. I have two channels. “Swan Creates” and “Swan Creates Art” (I’m not the best at naming things 😅). My views on my original channel, “Swan Creates,” were stagnant, so I created a new channel, “Swan Creates Art,” to hopefully help with that.
It did not.
So, with my break from YouTube, I’ve decided to transfer all my videos from my new channel over to my old channel.
My goal is that when I transfer all my videos over to my old channel, I’ll be ready to return to YouTube.
No promises, but this is my hope.
During my break, I’m learning a great deal about myself. I hope this can help me grasp what led to my current and most intense Burnout.
Hence, this series.
I want to keep records of the things I’ve discovered about myself, and hopefully find my way out of Burnout.
This is my journey.
Hopefully, my journey can also help you on your journey, and maybe we can share tips as we navigate Burnout together.
